Protec Event Services – Health & Safety Policy

1. Statement of Intent

At Protec Event Services, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and welfare for all staff, clients, contractors, and members of the public affected by our operations. As providers of professional medical, security, and fire safety services for events, we recognise our responsibility to deliver services safely, efficiently, and responsibly.

2. Our Commitment

We aim to:

  • Prevent accidents, injuries, and work-related ill health.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant UK health and safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
  • Provide safe systems of work, safe equipment, and safe working environments.
  • Deliver thorough risk assessments and method statements for all our services.

3. Responsibilities

Management

  • Ensure health and safety policies are implemented, monitored, and regularly reviewed.
  • Provide appropriate resources and training for staff to work safely and competently.
  • Maintain effective communication and consultation regarding health and safety issues.

Employees and Contractors

  • Take reasonable care of their health and safety and that of others.
  • Co-operate with management in carrying out responsibilities under this policy.
  • Follow procedures, training, and instructions provided for safe working.
  • Report all hazards, near misses, or incidents immediately.

4. Key Health & Safety Areas

Medical Services

  • Staffed by qualified and registered professionals.
  • Clinical governance and patient care following CQC standards (if applicable).
  • Triage protocols and emergency care plans are established and practised.

Security Services

  • SIA-licensed personnel trained in conflict management and public safety.
  • Crowd control and event-specific risk mitigation strategies in place.
  • Constant situational awareness and coordination with other emergency services.

Fire Safety

  • Provision of trained fire marshals and response teams.
  • Regular fire risk assessments and evacuation planning.
  • Equipment checks, including extinguishers and fire alarms, before deployment.

5. Training & Competence

We ensure that all personnel:

  • Receive appropriate induction and role-specific training.
  • Are competent and certified where required (e.g., SIA, First Aid, Fire Safety).
  • Participate in refresher training and regular safety briefings.

6. Monitoring & Review

  • This policy will be reviewed annually or following significant changes to operations or legislation.
  • Health and safety performance will be monitored through audits, inspections, and incident reporting.
